You do not have to know exactly where you fit yet. If you care about helping your neighbors, there is a role here that can match your skills, schedule, and comfort level.
Volunteer Opportunities
Woodland Township Fire Department is built by people who step forward in different ways. Some members train for interior firefighting. Others support search and rescue, drone operations, communications, logistics, fundraising, events, administration, and member support.
Whether you want to respond to calls, help behind the scenes, or support the department through the fire company and Ladies Auxiliary, we can help you understand the options and choose a path that feels right.
Ways to Serve
Train to respond to fires, alarms, motor vehicle crashes, storm emergencies, and other calls for help throughout Woodland Township.
Support incidents in wooded and hard-to-reach areas as a drone operator, search and rescue technician, UTV team member, or communications support member.
Help keep operations moving through equipment support, accountability, incident rehab, records, planning, community outreach, and day-to-day department needs.
Serve through the fire company by supporting department traditions, membership, public events, fundraising, leadership, and community connection.
Join the auxiliary to help organize events, support members and their families, raise funds, and strengthen the department's connection with the community.
Many members start with a conversation, attend a meeting, ask questions, and then decide which role makes the most sense for them.
What to Expect
Firefighter and special operations roles include structured training, safety skills, and hands-on practice. Support roles are trained around the work you will actually do.
Members build trust through training nights, public events, fundraisers, meetings, and the shared responsibility of being ready when the township needs help.
Every role matters. The person flying a drone, tracking resources, planning a fundraiser, or bringing support to a long incident is part of the response.
